Open Letter to Our Team

Dear Brook Squad Family,

It is with sad hearts that we are reaching out to confirm what many of you already know, our season has officially come to a close. Never in a million years did we anticipate what we are currently experiencing as a family, community, and nation. It is even more heartbreaking to think about the significant hours so many of you put in so that you could experience success this season. With that being said, let’s look to the future!

Grades 9-11, we look forward to seeing you back next year. You still have time to achieve the high school goals each of you has set. Start thinking about what you’d like to achieve once things get back to our new normal.

Our seniors, unlike grades 9-11, you lost a piece of your journey that will never be replaced. No school. No prom. No final track season. No formal graduation. We’d like to thank you for your contributions to the PHS community and track program. We believe the sky is the limit for each of you as you go to the next level. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you ever need anything.

In closing, let’s not dwell on the disappointment of losing our season, but take away the lessons that will be important for you to remember as you go forward in life.

  1. Tomorrow isn’t promised. Make it a habit to cherish every opportunity you receive and give it your all.
  2. Enjoy the moment. Opportunities can be taken away from you despite doing all of the right things. Don’t get caught up with the results, but embrace and trust the process. The process will lead you further than anything else in life.
  3. Value positive relationships. Relationships should never be taken for granted. The quarantine should teach you to embrace the relationships that truly add value to your life. Don’t hesitate to contact teachers, administrators and/or coaches who have left a lasting impression, and tell them "Thank you."

This chapter of your life is closing, but remember that the story of your life isn’t based on one chapter. You still have many more chapters to write in your life’s story. Use this year’s unfortunate experience to propel you into the greatness we know you are capable of.

Love,

Your Coaches (Coach Swann, Coach Bryant, Coach Risse, Coach Dudley, Coach Greg, Coach Dexter & Coach Kenny)

Snap-Raise Email Campaign Fundraiser

Information

Hi Pebblebrook High School Track and Field Parents and supporters!

We're kicking off our fundraiser with Snap! Raise, the nation's leading fundraising platform for groups, clubs and teams. For the past five years, Snap! Raise has helped more than 35,000 groups in the U.S. raise more than $400M in funding! I'm excited to get started and have one vital request.

I ask that you help your student identify at least 20 people they will reach out to via Snap! Raise, and gather their email address prior to our team meeting on Friday, February 7.

The list of 20 people should include many of your child's biggest fans and needs to be completed in full to ensure our campaign is set up for success. It is my hope and expectation that each student will have a major impact on our program. Here are the next steps:

· Help your student select at least 20 potential supporters

· Enter their names and correct email into the NOTES feature on your students' phone

· Avoid using emails of teachers, peers of your students, or strangers

Here are 20 examples of people your student should consider adding at a minimum.

  1. Parent(s)/Guardian #1
  2. Parent(s)/Guardian #2
  3. Grandma
  4. Grandpa
  5. Cousin(s)
  6. Uncle(s)
  7. Auntie(s)

  16. Local businesses that know you
